Solita is a growing software company with 580 square meters of office space located in a modern office building in Helsinki. The company's growth and the challenges of the premises require a comprehensive solution for indoor climate management.
“Our office is located in an old building, and the old refrigeration equipment were unable to maintain a constant indoor temperature”, in addition, “During the summer, the indoor temperature in our office rose unnecessarily high, which clearly affected the work efficiency and comfort of the staff.”
The office space was divided into open-plan offices, conference rooms and quiet work areas. The load and use of these spaces varied significantly throughout the day. The problem was particularly pronounced in the conference rooms, where the temperature quickly rose to an uncomfortable level during larger meetings.
"Our server room had its own separate cooling system, but it was also reaching the end of its life. In addition, maintaining and servicing the entire system was difficult and expensive when we had several separate systems."
The well-being of employees is important to the company, so improving the indoor climate was seen as a strategic investment.
"We wanted to find an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solution that would serve us well into the future. Responsibility is one of our company's core values," was how we started moving forward.
So, they turned to Renewe when looking for an expert partner to implement their indoor air solution. The experts thoroughly surveyed the company's needs and permit requirements.

Based on the survey, Renewe recommended installing a modern VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) system, which enables zone-specific temperature control.
“The VRV system proved to be an ideal solution for our premises, as it can adjust the cooling capacity individually according to needs. This was important to us, as the occupancy rate in our office varies significantly from one space to another.”
A total of 22 indoor units were installed in the system in different parts of the office, and the server room also had its own separate system, which was integrated into the same management system.
“The system uses advanced control, which saves energy and allows for stepless power adjustment. This keeps the indoor temperature constant without the large fluctuations that were previously typical,” says Renewe’s production manager.
The installation of the VRV system was carried out in stages over a couple of weeks to ensure minimal disruption to the company's daily business, including in the evenings and at night.
"We were worried about the installation because we can't interrupt our operations for a long time. The installations were mostly organized after working hours, which was a big relief for us."
The installation team also took care of protecting and cleaning the space after each work phase.
“The installation process was very smooth. Communication was clear, and we were constantly informed about the progress of the project. Overall, the process exceeded our expectations.”
VRF/VRV system has been in use for two years, and the results are convincing.
“Indoor air quality has improved significantly. The temperature remains consistent throughout the premises, which has increased the comfort and productivity of our staff. We have also received compliments from guests about the pleasant climate in our meeting rooms.”
