A split cooling unit consists of two parts: an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit cools the room air, while the outdoor unit transfers heat to the outside. This design ensures efficient and quiet operation. Split units require fixed installation and are significantly more efficient than portable options.

Cooling is the process of lowering the temperature of indoor air by removing heat (and moisture) from the interior. This is done using a cooling device that transfers heat energy away from the object – for example, a compressor system where a refrigerant vaporizes and condenses during heat transfer.

A cooling device installed in a home is typically a fixed split or monoblock system. It provides efficient and quiet cooling for, for example, the living room or bedrooms. Such a solution requires professional installation, but brings considerable comfort, especially in the summer heat.

Building cooling refers to the cooling of either individual spaces or the entire building using designed cooling systems. Solutions can include multiple indoor units combined with a single outdoor unit or a centralized water chiller. The right system is selected based on the size, purpose and heat load of the building.
