Water cooler is a central cooling device that produces cold water for the needs of the building's cooling system. The device removes heat from the air in the building by transferring it through water to the outside, either with a dryer, a cooling tower or directly to the outside air. A water chiller is a common solution in large buildings such as hotels, hospitals and production facilities.
The water cooler is used for centralized air conditioning cooling systems as an energy source. It supplies cold water to, for example, fan coils or air conditioners that distribute cool air to different rooms. The water chiller enables high capacity and uniform cooling power in multi-storey or large buildings.
Water chillers operate on compressor technology or the absorption principle. They take warm water from the cooling circuit, remove heat from it and return it to the circulation cooled. The water chiller can be air-cooled or water-cooled depending on the energy needs of the site, and can be connected to heat recovery or free cooling systems.
The sizing of a water chiller or industrial heat pump is based on the cooling/heating needs of the property, the usage profile and the overall system solution. The building area, heat loads, number of cooling zones and the desired energy efficiency must be taken into account.
